MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform a variety of trouble shooting, repair and preventative maintenance duties required to maintain all production equipment in serviceable and efficient operating condition.
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication with all the stakeholders (Operators, Supervisors, Education Coordinator, HR...), by supporting the culture of the organization and serving as a model for team behaviors. Must have a commitment to the overall organizational direction and the team-based approach.
  • As a member of continuous manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, this position will be required to respond to the facility during un-scheduled work hour.
  • Monitor machines for optimum operation and product flow. (This requires answering alarms and running machines through HMI screens)
  • Communicate with Autotechs and operators on previous shift and discuss problems and concerns. Locate and diagnose complex equipment problems and ensure timely corrective action. Inform supervisor of need for major repairs.
  • High pace environment, always move around the plant to resolve problems for optimum operation.
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment as required or scheduled.
  • Conduct predictive maintenance work in coordination with Autotech - level 2, and lead Autotech, to maximize replacement component life without compromise to equipment efficiency and performance.
  • Knowledge of various automation components such as, pneumatics, electronics, sensors and switches.
  • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problem.
  • Set up machine parameters and test equipment to ensure that it functions properly. In addition, operate equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations and tests.
  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
  • Consult with Lead Autotech, and Autotech - Level 2, to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance.
  • Any additional duties required as directed by Supervisor. Should be competent to perform any task in area of responsibility.
  • Maintain clean plant surroundings and equipment cleanliness



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Education equivalent to an accredited apprenticeship in electrical/ electronics, or 1 - 2 years experience in electro-mechanical systems or Automation Technician.
  • Strong technical competencies in electro-mechanical and automation skills.
  • Strong human relations skills
  • Microsoft Office Programs, Power point, Excel, Word, Outlook and Microsoft Operating System.
  • A mix of standing/moving (90%) and sitting (10%) is required.
  • Position requires ability to climb, push, bend, and stretch on a regular basis.
  • Some lifting up to 75 lbs.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
