Position Summary
The Admission Coordinator will provide customer service to youth, families, and stakeholders seeking residential treatment. Responsible for referral coordination, eligibility screening, timely authorizations management, intake/admission, and discharge planning.

Essential Job Duties:



  • Actively ensure interactions reflect Kids First, Safety, Family, Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Challenge and Engaged Environment and Community Involvement,
  • Interactions with youth shall maintain an environment that provides a physically/emotionally safe space for youth and effective learning, growth, and progress toward individualized goals,
  • Model supportive, consistent, respectful behavior with all parties to ensure an atmosphere that fosters healthy relationships, trust, and mutual respect; set clear boundaries and provide observations and reflection to youth while fostering equity and diversity,
  • Provide support to the Multidisciplinary Treatment Team (MDT),
  • Provide accurate, timely and relevant information about programming, eligibility, and admission protocols to referrals,
  • Coordinate, schedule and facilitate intake/admissions process for youth and families, in partnership with the treatment team,
  • Create, maintain and be held accountable for accurate documentation of eligibility and authorizations in electronic health record, including but not limited to all pre-authorization, authorization tracking, and re-authorizations for placement, and discharge notifications,
  • Provide consistent, thorough and accurate communication with treatment team, third party insurance, billing/finance department, as well as externally to youth, families and referral sources,
  • Ensure follow-up with referral sources pre-admission, following admission, and throughout the discharge planning process,
  • Assist in the development of transition and discharge planning, including appropriate community referrals and service coordination,
  • Facilitate marketing and referral development activities,
  • Transport youth and may drive for other work-related tasks,
  • Travel as required,
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Training and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related human services field,
  • One (1) year of experience in authorizations management preferred,
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience working with youth with behavioral health conditions preferred.
