Job Overview
The Sr Director, Business Development for Data & AI will lead the strategy development and execution of T-Mobile's Data & AI monetization business that serves our Enterprise. They will function as the primary interface to senior leadership in stakeholder functions and will be responsible for defining and driving partnerships and strategic business decisions to launch and grow the T-Mobile's data and AI business.
They will support the long-term data first and AI enabled strategy to capitalize on T-Mobile's data and AI assets, offering a strong business and partnership vision leading to new revenue streams. This leader will support the evolution of our enterprise-wide data and AI commercialization efforts and lay the foundation to scale. This key position will work cross functionally to provide guidance on leveraging data and AI assets for new business opportunities, accelerate time to market and reduce risk.
The Senior Director, Business Development Data & AI will have capabilities in the business development and partnership lifecycle and cross-functional collaboration to establish a shared vision for the future generation of Data and AI experiences for a new set of enterprise customers by building consensus across the company on priorities leading to execution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and support strategic partnerships with senior internal to T-Mobile and external customers. Intimately understands their business strategies, generates innovative ideas, and commercialization strategy.
- Accountable and responsible for the business strategy for data & AI capabilities and products.
- Leads 5+ directs who support specific partners, approximately ~30-40 direct/indirect headcount of FTEs and ~10-20 contractors.
- Creates, owns, plans, and manages a portfolio of data and AI partners leveraging several new and innovative products. Defines KPIs and metrics to measure partnership performance and informs key resource investment decisions.
- Manage and lead a team of professionals responsible for data and AI partnership negotiations, strategic business case development and complex data analytics.
- Experience presenting to and interacting with executive management and C-Suite and a proven track record of having led large projects and teams across complex scope and scale
- Ability to think strategically, take a holistic view, and develop a compelling vision focusing on impact and results
- Leverages qualitative and quantitative data to create clear and measurable goals for the team aligned to company, department, and functional area objectives.
- Regularly conducts organizational design thinking/strategy to best structure the team and leverage resources, using a mix of employees, managed services, and other partners where applicable. This includes periodic reviews of current and anticipated aggregate staffing capacity.
- Develops and maintains culture, process, and consistent action for continuous improvement.
- Assists direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure scope and outcomes are on time, or ahead of schedule.
- Develops and implements staff and operations models to support systems for efficient, continuous availability.
- Hire, manage, and develop a team of high-performing Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, and individual contributors.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in technology, business, or equivalent. MBA or Technical Master's Degree is of significant added value.
- Work Experience:
- 10+ Years experience in a strategy or business development environment. Advanced level understanding of strategy development, execution, and complex negotiations.
- Relentless focus on identifying and creating business opportunities.
- Obsessed with delivering the right way across people, process, and technology.
- 4-7 Years experience leading teams in the data and/or AI space. An excellent leader of large teams, coach and mentor who has built and led high-performing strategy or business development teams.
- Experience partnering with multiple functional and business groups across the enterprise.
- Results oriented as evidenced by a history of delivering on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Communication: Proven ability to communicate with Leadership effectively and efficiently, technical, and non-technical audiences while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to various audiences including executives and non-technical leaders.
- Business Analytics: Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize data to drive decisions.

Base Pay Range: $216,500 - $292,900
Corporate Bonus Target: 35%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
