Project Manager IT GRC will lead and support continuous improvement projects initiated or facilitated by the IT GRC team. The Project Manager IT GRC will also program manage steering committees facilitated by the IT GRC team by managing project plans, preparing presentations for committee meetings and working with IT stakeholders to gather content and metrics on a weekly cadence under the direction of the IT GRC SOX Manager and or Director of IT Global Risk & Compliance. The IT GRC team is important to continuous improvement of risk management, the IT internal controls (especially IT SOX) environment and Stericycle's future state IT landscape, IT policy and IT operations.

This role is meant to successfully manage Information Technology, steering committee meetings and continuous IT control improvement projects, develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders to meet ongoing project objectives.

Key Job Activities:

  • Prove project/program management support and guidance to various projects and programs facilitated by the IT GRC team.
  • Manage multiple projects. Lead all aspects of assigned projects through project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints. Leads multi-disciplinary teams, composed of various levels of personnel, and vendors to create and deploy successful projects. Lead a project from ideation through closure, being able to organize a team of information technology and business professionals to execute the project through the complete lifecycle.
  • Perform Project Planning. Lead the creation/build/updating of project schedules, project charters, project plans, status reports, and work breakdown structures.
  • Project plan management Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to develop a comprehensive project plan, tracking to project due dates.
  • Coordinate with project/program stakeholders to refine activities, milestones, roles and responsibilities across workstreams
  • Support monitoring of dependencies and report on program health against timelines
  • Support identification of risks, issues, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Escalate risks and issues to leadership for resolution
  • Provide weekly status reporting updates leveraging existing governance structure
  • Perform Project Scope Management: effectively manage project work within the stated scope
  • Perform Communication Management: create / implement project organization and
  • communication plans which enable the project team to effectively work together to meet project objectives.
  • Perform Meeting Management: prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, distribute
  • meeting documentation, and maintain and monitor action item listings as necessary. Facilitate
  • and lead project meetings by being well-prepared and adhering to topics
  • Prepare and present project progress, risks/issues and status updates to Executive and Senior leadership
  • Manage weekly steering committee presentations to IT leadership and the coordination gathering of content in a consistent manner.
  • The focus of the projects include but are not limited to logical access, application security/role design, IT policy, IT change management, segregation of duties, and IT operations, IT SOX audit cycle, implementation of necessary controls to support IT compliance, continuous improvement of the overall IT control environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Education:
Preferred Education: in Bachelors or Masters
Experience:

  • 3+ years direct work experience in an IT project management capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, business administration, information systems or related field.
  • Familiar with IT controls frameworks, IT Sarbanes Oxley (IT SOX), audit methodologies, IT concepts and terminology, or strong desire to learn more about IT SOX and internal controls, a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating several projects at one time.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and hands-on experience in building tools and presentations with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access
  • Soft skills to include: proactive, future-thinking, strategic, accountable, collaborative, manages ambiguity, strong planning & prioritization experience
  • High energy, ability to prioritize and has a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast paced environment, both independently and lead a team
  • Previous internal or external audit experience a plus
  • Project management certification a plus
  • CISA, CISM, CIA, CPA certifications a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to work with teams that are geographically distributed, cross-functional and work across different time zones
  • Strong analytical ability, critical thinking, decision making, judgment and problem analysis techniques
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Must possess strong knowledge and expertise in project management including delivery methodologies and tools.
  • Must have exceptional understanding of business fundamentals, able to work with all levels of business leaders
