The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York and an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts, invites nominations and applications for a Residential Education Coordinator. Job Description: The Residential Education Coordinator (REC) is a full-time, twelve-month, live-in professional staff position responsible for providing leadership and supervision for a residence hall housing approximately 300-500 residents. Reporting to an Assistant Director of Residential Education, Residential Education Coordinators oversee the daily operation of a residence hall and serve as an active and visible Residential Life staff member. RECs lead educational and community-building initiatives within a residence hall through supervision of staff, building relationships with and assisting residents, enacting community standards procedures, and serving on an on-call duty rotation. RECs are also instrumental in contributing to the success of Residential Life and the FIT Division of Student Success through department-wide and campus activities including move in/out, student leadership retreats, summer housing, departmental committees, assessment, and more. RECs perform other duties as assigned are expected to contribute to a positive, team-oriented, energetic, and flexible work atmosphere. Additional Information: Staff in Residential Life are employees of the FIT Student Housing Corporation, a 501(c)(3) entity. Compensation and benefits are determined through the Housing Corporation governance process and are subject to change as such. Salary Salary: $61,000 per year commensurate with experience. Work Schedule Days/Hours: M-F, 9am-5pm, in person; evenings and weekends, work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
