Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will work with area managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, equipment suppliers, and operations personnel to program, maintain, monitor, and verify all production equipment. This position balances efforts between production support, maintenance, and improvement projects. The Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in troubleshooting and programming PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley systems.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with servo valves, cartridge valves, switch plate pumps, and Vickers Action Packs.
  • Demonstrated strong background in E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation), including retrofitting gauges and meters onto equipment.
  • Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting encoders, servo motors, VFDs, PLC controllers, Bluetooth, Data Highway (legacy), Ethernet systems, electric actuators, valves, gauges, and meters.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in extrusion, casting and fabrication operations is preferred.
  • Design, or supervisory design experience in electrical systems, mostly 480VAC.
  • Experience interfacing shop floor level machinery with enterprise level control systems & ERP systems for consistency andclarity.
  • Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks experience.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills in English, bilingual preferred, but not required.
  • Lean Manufacturing principles including waste reduction experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate equipment to ensure world-class OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and 100% adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Assist engineering with new equipment designs, modifications, and installations, including project management of upgrades, modifications, or new installations.
  • Analyze production data to implement and sustain improvements in all facets of extrusion, anodizing, and fabrication processes to meet/exceed production goals.
  • Provide PLC troubleshooting and programming support for all plant equipment.
