BFT DENTAL ASSISTANT MGH NORTH END HEALTH CENTER

Bulfinch Temporary Service is currently hiring a temporary Dental Assistant for the North End Water Front Health Center. This position is M-F from 7:45-5pm and is temporary in nature and not benefitted. If you are qualified and interested please apply now!

o Greets and escorts dental patients to the dental treatment area

o Prepares the dental exam room for dental treatment by cleaning and disinfecting treatment areas according to the Health Center's policies and procedures.

o Prepares patients for dental treatment

o Assists the dentist in the delivery of dental treatment: Performs four handed dentistry. Takes x-rays. Process alginate impressions and pours dental models. Removes temporary cement from crowns and re- cements crowns. Delivers bleaching kit to patients

o Performs all infection control duties such as: Cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments according to health center policies and procedures

o Stocks dental operatories and maintains dental supplies in treatment areas.

o Performs lab procedures such as: Fabrication of bleaching trays and dental models

o Provides individualized patient dental education in oral health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment procedures.

o Applies anti-cariogenic agents including fluoride varnish

o Places and removes dental dams

o Cares for dental equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and performs its required daily maintenance.

o Provides interpreting services if applicable between dental provider and patients as needed

• Ability to assist in fourhanded dentistry
• Working knowledge of operative dentistry
• Working knowledge of other general dental procedures
• Ability to work with small children and elderly
• Willingness to learn new procedures and work with others with the department
• Knowledge of Italian/Spanish a plus
• Dental Assistant License
• BLS

* High school diploma, GED or equivalent

* Certificate: Providers BLS

* Radiology Certification

• Must have at least one year full time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a dental assistant in a recognized dental office, or the successful completion of a training program for dental assistants at a recognized dental school

  • Must be able to adapt to patient's status and needs.
  • Eye and position strain from computer.
