Instructor - 12 Month - Operations/Engineering Management Graduate Program

The Instructor is a non-tenure track faculty appointment in the Department of Industrial Engineering in the Operations Management and Engineering Management Graduate Programs. The job duties for this position will include teaching graduate and undergraduate pre-requisite courses online. Specific instructor duties include designing courses, constructing syllabi, developing curriculum material, writing and administering exams, advising and evaluating students, serving on faculty committees, reviewing comprehensive examination presentations, mentoring new adjunct faculty, and participating in professional societies. The instructor may teach executive education or workforce development courses. This position will primarily teach online courses and will work remotely in conjunction with the University of Arkansas Policy on Flexible Work Arrangements including Remote Work. An essential job duty is the ability to create and maintain professional working relationships with students, staff, and other instructors.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in operations management, business, engineering management, industrial engineering, operations research or closely related field conferred by the start of employment



  • Qualify for a faculty appointment to teach both Operations Management and Engineering Management courses



  • Experience teaching live, online, or hybrid graduate courses



  • At least five years of industry, consulting, military, or government experience in a related field



  • Excellent communication skills



  • Potential for teaching high-quality online Operations Management and Engineering Management courses, teaching a variety of graduate courses, and providing appropriate service to the department, university, and profession



  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion





Preferred Qualifications:




  • ABET accredited in engineering degree



  • At least three years online course development and instruction in higher education with platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS)



  • Relocation to the Northwest Arkansas area to be able to teach live and hybrid courses



  • At least 10 years of industry, consulting, military, or government experience in a related fielf



  • Professional certificates in Operations Management and Engineering Management related areas
