Psychiatrist - Adult Inpatient

University Health Physicians (UHP) is the physician group practice for the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility. UMKC supports several residencies and many of our physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. University Health Physicians and University Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff and to provide psychiatric services mainly at our Lakewood BHAC (inpatient psychiatric hospital unit).

This position will be the leader of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists and medical social workers. Other duties will include providing consultation liaison coverage at the Lakewood Medical Center and possibly providing occasional supplemental coverage when TMC BHAC staff is on vacation, as they will provide coverage during this position's PTO. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.

The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry.
