POSITION TYPE: Seasonal WAGE RANGE: $15.00 to $17.00 / hour DOE SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Rental Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Setup (adjustment), maintenance and return of rental equipment. Employee will work in gear check accurately checking gear, marking it, collecting fees and retrieving gear. Must be 18 years old for this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a friendly and outgoing attitude. Safely fit customers with rental boots and set-up skis and snowboards. Assist with equipment testing and maintenance. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain facilities. Keep work area clean and neat. Wax skis and snowboards. Will perform other duties assigned. PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Job allows employee to vary physical position often. Combined standing and walking up to 8-10 hour a day. Employee will lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Will bend, squat, kneel climb, push, twist and reach above shoulder level often. Employee will use hands for grasping, twisting and fine manipulation. Worksite is 70% inside and 30% outside. Outside is exposed to ice/snow. Uniform is required and supplied. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Must have strong interactive skills with customers and co-workers. Capable of retaining the training of shop policies and programs. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Ski and/or snowboarding experience very helpful. LICENSE NEEDED: Certification for Rossignol alpine bindings. (Employer will certify during training). MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Beltwaxer, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers and misc. hand tools. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult. High volume of business could be stressful. COMPLEXITY: Job activities consist of tasks that are often repetitive. Complexity of job is moderate.
