Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed cardiac surgery team at Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to cardiac surgery patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Care:




  • Conduct thorough assessments of cardiac surgery patients pre and postoperatively.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal recovery and patient outcomes.



Surgical Assistance:




  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons to provide assistance to cardiac patient care.
  • Monitor patients closely during and after surgery, managing any emergent situations effectively.



Patient Education:




  • Educate patients and their families on postoperative care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Ensure clear communication regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.



Collaborative Teamwork:




  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and conferences.



Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Acute Care or Adult-Gerontology.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
  • Previous experience in cardiac surgery or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 81.51 per hour - Maximum 81.51 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
