PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for providing electrical expertise within the Renewal by Andersen (RbA) team supporting business growth projects.

The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows and enforces the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
  • Continuous learning to stay current with latest national and state electrical code
  • Update/maintain site specifications/standards for electrical code compliance
  • Assign and oversee project work for internal, unlicensed electricians
  • Coach/mentor apprentice (unlicensed) electricians
  • Updates personnel tracking for approved electrical hours
  • Coordinates/audits training for site personnel with NFPA 70E
  • Setup/maintain site electrical tools and training
  • Build and maintain site wire/cable making and testing area
  • Create/maintain electrical equipment lifecycle management database
  • Organize and carryout preventative maintenance programs
  • Plan and coordinate incoming power/breaker maintenance work
  • Create and update site electrical power distribution prints and files
  • Work with vendors to assure specifications and code requirements are followed
  • Review vendor electrical prints prior to equipment Factory Acceptance Testing and validate during equipment Site Acceptance Testing
  • Document design changes
  • Project management skills; deliver safe, effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, preventative maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)
  • Participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, operations, Value Stream Managers, and peers
  • Support the engineering, maintenance, and operations teams with advanced troubleshooting
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical and network drawings for equipment
  • Travel requirements: Less than 10% for training, corporate visits, and vendor visits



MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minnesota State Board of Electricity Journeyman or Master Electrician License required
  • Minimum 2-yr technical degree in a related field or equivalent past work experience
  • Demonstrated PC literacy to run required software applications
  • Proficient project management skills to run and coordinate jobs with internal personnel and/or external contractors
  • Expertise reading and creating electrical and network schematics
  • Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical
  • Expertise with the use of electrical and network tools
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in safe work methods (lock out tag out, arc flash)
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable with hands-on work
  • Interest in working in a manufacturing setting
  • Self-motivated and able to learn quickly; being able to work independently and on a team depending on the situation
  • Experience with change management strategies



DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical knowledge
  • SKM or equivalent software to maintain/update site arc flash database
  • Experience with industrial controls including PLC's, HMI's, VFD's, and servos
