Under the general direction of multiple Department Chairs and Program Directors provide leadership, oversight and management for seven departments and programs. The oversight and management include the areas of business and finance, extensive contract and grant administration, academic and staff human resources, teaching and instructional support, computer operations and support, space and research and teaching laboratory support needs. Actively encourage and participate in training and education of staff; implement team building with administrative staff and participate in management meetings with Department Chairs/Directors and other supervisors/managers to discuss departmental issues, concerns and needs. Participate in and oversees the yearly planning of budget together with chairs/directors, faculty, and staff. Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date. Department Overview Under the general direction of the Department Chairs and Program Directors manage the daily operations and the overall administrative services for seven departments and programs: African American and African Studies, American Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Cultural Studies, Native American Studies, Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies; and assist in the administration of the Taller arte del Nuevo Amanecer (TANA), Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies, and the C.N. Gorman Museum. The units consist of approximately 44 permanent senate faculty FTE, 40-50 temporary lecturer courses hired annually, ~110 graduate student FTE (38-40 Associate Instructors slots annually, 175-180 TA slots annually), 73 registered graduate students, 402 undergraduate majors in 6 distinct majors, 17.5 permanent staff FTE, plus accounts totaling over $12 million (anticipated to continue to increase, due to continued extramural awards).
