Marine Manager Operations

Our department Offshore Bid Management & Operations Logistics sits in AME Customer Project Execution. We work closely with sales during bidding and contract negotiations as well as acting as subject matter experts in logistics, procurement and offshore operations, to produce winning construction contracts which are ready to hand over to execution project management teams.

Responsibilities:



  • Support efforts along with Procurement, Sales, Construction and Service functions to select Jack-Up or Floating Installation Vessels for Wind Turbine Generator Installation and Main Component Exchange requirements
  • Preparation of feasibility studies and business cases in connection with e.g. investment proposals, charter arrangements or sustainability studies.
  • Support tender procedures with vessel suppliers
  • Be up to date on vessels requirements, designs, new constructions, developments and collect knowledge of all relevant industry stakeholders in the Jack-Up and Heavy Lift space
  • Participate in relevant internal and external meetings covering vessel strategy in Vestas projects, including client meetings, vessel supplier meetings, and third parties such as designers and shipyards.
  • Support vessel contracts from signing, construction and acceptance, mobilization, and demobilization including contractual enforcement and support to vessel end-users.
  • Review of deck layouts, jacking studies, loading arrangements and lifting plans
  • Organization and coordination of vessel inspections with regards to vessel safety and operability
  • Assessment of offshore project contracts and identification of potential risks related to vessel conditions and execution
  • Preparation of Adverse Weather estimates for offshore operations based on DNVGL-ST-N0001 - Marine Operations
  • Assessment of country-specific laws and regulation for chartering and operating installation vessels
  • Participation in workshops for concept developments or safety requirements as key department representative
  • Review and mark-up of client tender documentation and preparation of contract schedules
  • Support to construction and service projects through planning and execution phase
  • Implement lessons learned from previous projects
  • Engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders on best practices
  • * Set requirements and assess suitability for port facilities to accommodate relevant vessels


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline (preferably Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering) or a Maritime specific business degree.
  • 5 or more years of work experience in the offshore (wind) construction, maritime, or marine industries with a strong preference for time working on vessels or in shipyards
  • Core understanding of technical matters involved in vessel operations such as navigation, propulsion systems, ship construction, Dynamic Positioning, Cranes and Active Gangways
  • Experience with sales, negotiation, procurement or bidding and proposals is desirable


Competencies:



  • English communications skills (verbal, active listening, written, meeting management, presentation)
  • Valid driver's license, passport and ability to travel as needed to meet business goals
  • Ability to influence across organizational boundaries with a solid focus on working with and understanding different cultures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
