Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Network Services - Computer Support Technician (Senior) to perform network and computer support for Air Force Human Resources Systems Division (AF HRSD). The person that fills this position will advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Support is provided to Information Technology (IT) Networks supporting the AF HRSD Portfolio which is responsible for the maintenance and sustainment of military and civilian legacy Human Resources (HR) Systems and the development of new IT capabilities which support AF personnel processes needed to acquire, train, promote and retire Total Air Force personnel. This position supports the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES)/GBH Human Resources Systems Division.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a highly motivated individual. The individual possesses the advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered highly skilled in their technical/professional field. Possesses the ability to perform tasks independently and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman contractor personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise (Program Office, Enterprise and Staff Level Support interface). This individual will perform work that includes, but is not limited to:



  • Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading computer operating systems and software and/or network operating systems software;
  • Performing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for organizational IT systems and devices;
  • Performing help organizational desk support;
  • Perform organizational system access management and procedures required to grant network access;
  • Analyzing and recommending network requirements;
  • Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure;
  • Analyzing network workload;
  • Monitoring network capacity and performance;
  • Diagnosing and resolving network problems;
  • Recommending network backup and recovery procedures; and
  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Job Requirements

  • Education

    • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD.
    • OR, OR, bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
    • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, 8 of which must be in the DoD.


  • Specific Work Experience

    • Windows Operating Systems
    • Unix, .NET, Java, Java, JavaScript, etc.
    • MS Office Applications - MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.


  • Certifications

    • Required to hold and maintain an IAT/IAM level II certification (Minimum of Security+; equivalent or higher certification).


  • Security Clearance

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.


  • U.S. Citizenship required.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • AWS Cloud Solutions Architect Professional Certification (or equivalent Cloud related certification)
