Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Page PHX. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in structural engineering to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative designs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and, preferably, Structural Engineer (SE) certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the structural design and analysis for a wide variety of projects, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Structural Design & Analysis: Perform and oversee detailed structural analysis and design for buildings and other infrastructure projects, including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures.
  • Collaborative Design Development: Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to develop integrated design solutions that meet both aesthetic and performance criteria.
  • Mentorship & Training: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, offering guidance and support in their professional development and project execution.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients for structural-related matters, fostering positive relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Code Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet applicable local and national building codes, industry standards, and best practices for safety, sustainability, and functionality.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving: Identify and address potential risks during the design and construction process, finding innovative solutions to complex structural challenges.
  • Construction Support: Provide ongoing support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs (Requests for Information), and assisting with on-site inspections.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, calculations, and construction documents that clearly communicate design intent and specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in structural engineering technologies, codes, and industry trends, integrating new approaches into your work.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of leading successful projects from concept to completion.
  • Licensing/Certifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Expertise in structural design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, ETABS, SAP2000, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to find solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and team members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience within the Advanced Manufacturing and technology market sectors including; Semiconductor, Datacenter, Cleanroom is a plus;
