Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

Pay Range: $105,887 - $121,160
Job Summary:

The Solution Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into solutions in Hydro's strategic MES system. This role is involved in implementation projects and operational activities related to Hydro's strategic MES system. The position reports to the Director of GBS Strategic MES Services.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 7 years of relevant work experience
  • 5 years of experience working with MES system(s) (Hydra from MPDV preferred) in a hands-on environment
  • 5 years of experience with MES implementations
  • Experience in hands-on project activities (or operational support) of MES systems
  • Expert-level understanding of MES systems, modules, and underlying architecture design
  • Full lifecycle MES experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English language knowledge

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all solutions, whether configurations or software developments fit and are aligned with Hydro's overall strategic landscape, covering ERP, quality, maintenance, and process control.
  • Work closely with internal customers (from Managing Director to operator) and other teams in GBS and 3rd party vendors.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to global (IT) standards and principles.
  • Ensure that all solutions are template-based (universal) and deviations are limited and justified.
  • Create functional designs for software developments.
  • Review functional designs for software developments made by other solution architects or functional specialists.
  • Understand the various needs and expectations from the MES user community and support and advise the implementation & operational support team(s) in analysis, prioritization, and resolution of MES issues.
  • Represent the strategic MES system in Hydro's implementation programs and projects, particularly during the discovery phase, where a gap analysis is conducted between current and new strategic systems.
