The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting engineering for validation of design/development, modification and evaluation of components or controls/integrated circuitry for hardware and/or other electromechanical systems for the CTI-Cryogenics and Polycold Products.

Main Responsibilities:



  • Participate in laboratory testing and development activities by defining, selecting, and creating custom test equipment and measurement for product performance testing and failure analysis activities.
  • Receive complex assignments which require safely working with high pressure equipment, gas handling and manifolds, pumps, vacuum systems, compressors, manual & automatic valves.
  • Create test procedures from approved test plans.
  • Build manual or automated test setups.
  • Execute and monitor laboratory tests.
  • Maintain documentation on results, communicate results to cross functional teams, and assist in determining methods or corrective actions to address performance gaps.
  • Assist cross functional engineers and staff in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.
  • Maintain 6S guidelines and support lab safety audits.



Skills/Knowledge:



  • 5+ years of experience in systems level electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Hands on experience with the use of common measurement devices such as power supplies, multimeters, temperature sensors, humidity/force/pressure/flow transducers, and similar.
  • Understanding of electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with using and setting up Electro-Mechanical system tests.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with instrumentation schematics, code, diagrams, written and verbal test plans.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to work independently and hands-on.
  • Customer oriented (Internal and External)
  • Experience in Data Acquisition Systems used for Verification Testing including programming on tools like LabVIEW.
  • PCBA and cable soldering experience a plus.
  • Failure Analysis Experience and Manufacturing Support Experience in Products like Refrigerators, Pumps, and Compressor
