Outpatient Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Opportunity with Heart Transplant Team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center

The first heart transplant in Washington, D.C., was performed at our Advanced Heart Failure Center in 1987. Our program has since performed more than 250 heart transplants. We are one of five programs nationwide that are researching noninvasive methods to assess patients for the potential of heart transplant rejection. We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our MHVI: Heart Failure team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
In this role, the PA/NP would work primarily with heart failure physicians and transplant coordinators to provide post operation care for heart transplant patients. They will be a part of the overall advanced heart failure team and have access to learn from experienced providers in the program.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience, but new grads are accepted. The work schedule will be 8 hr. shifts, 5 days a week with no holidays or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.

  • Minimum of 2 years Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience, new grads not considered.

  • Must have outpatient cardiology experience.

  • License/Certification/Registration

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $115,000/Annually - $143,619/Annually
