Position for a motivated, team player with frequent travel opportunities on a small antenna team located in Blossom Pt. Maryland reporting to our Alexandria, VA office. Candidate is responsible to assist with the design, development, construction, repair and maintenance of cutting-edge RF solutions for aerospace applications from HF to Ka band. Candidates must be US citizens and eligible for a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Responsibilities: Conducting technical activities related to communications maintenance Defining communications system requirements and assessing operational, mechanical requirements of rotating and fixed antennas Identifying critical parts, diagnosing and replacement of damaged elements Ability to work in an industrial/construction setting with forklifts, ladders, etc. and work at heights safely Ability to maintain tight control of tools and parts and provide accurate inventory Quick thinking ability to diagnose and make on-the-spot repair decisions Work with team to ensure repair parts and tools are requested/ordered/inventoried and prepped for travel to local or distant sites Requirements: 5+ years of experience with mechanical and industrial equipment use, design, troubleshooting and repair Experience working with motors and hydraulics, including repair and replacement of parts Experience working with multi-discipline teams (hardware/firmware/software) to produce advanced RF solutions is a plus. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers is required Candidates must have the ability to develop and analyze technical requirements, assess operational capability and diagnose problems in mechanical equipment, and then perform repair utilizing a multitude of tools from large to precision instruments Extensive/frequent travel required for this position
