Department: Hilo Corps Position Title: Shelter Relief Staff Reports to: Program Director FLSA Status: Non -Exempt, On Call Date: Sept 2024 General Statement: The Salvation Army (TSA) is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people. Job Summary: The Shelter Relief Staff is an On Call non-exempt position, where work is subject to availability and need. The Shelter Relief Staff is responsible for the safety and security of the residents and volunteers who are in our facilities including congregate settings and non-congregate settings. Treating all those receiving services with dignity, respect, and understanding, the shelter worker implements the rules of the program fairly and equitably. Any special or unusual concern is to be brought to the immediate attention of the supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualification and Education Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information. Attendance at trainings in Hawaii may be required. Certification & Licenses: Valid Hawaii driver's license, preferred.
