SUMMARY:

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible to perform 3D part and assembly modeling for moderate to complex product designs along with providing your input, thoughts, ideas, options in collaboration with engineering s
taff as part of product development teams. A high degree of CAD technology expertise is essential for this role to efficiently cycle through the design process iterations while ensuring flexible modeling techniques are in accordance with on-going life cycle support of the product models and drawings. In this role you will also work with other related technologies which may include Tolerance Analysis, Rapid Prototyping, FEA model set up and processing, etc. You will also be expected to have an understanding of and experience making design decisions based on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques. You may be involved with project planning, estimating, and reporting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist in developing product design solutions by providing your input, thoughts, ideas, and options closely collaborating with product engineers.
  • To iterate through design ideas generating 3-D CAD models to capture and communicate the design intent.
  • Update Product Engineering documentation to accurately represent the red-line changes aligning to the corporate standards, procedures and best practices. Designers at this level will have little to no changes stemming from CAD audits.
  • Assisting development with various prototyping methods. Develop positive relationships with suppliers as iterative development is needed.
  • Act as the team CAD application and PLM process expert.
  • Submit project timelines and tasks to communication tracker
  • Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones and required tasks. Monitor project progress and take corrective action to achieve timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or Technical Degree in Drafting/CAD or related area of work (1-3 years)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years' experience in drafting or related work
  • Demonstrates a strong interest and basic aptitude to work in a technical or scientific field

TECHNICAL MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient 2D and 3D solid modeling CAD Skills
  • Design fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of material characteristics and tooling concepts influencing design requirements
  • Advance skills in AutoCAD and Inventor software
  • Working knowledge of a Product Data Management system.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project Management tools

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
