Join Our Mission

The Assistant Director is responsible for the day to day management of the group home, including monitoring and supporting the program to assure that it remains, therapeutic, and effective.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the day to day management of the group home including but not limited to recruitment and retention of staff, coordinating and/or conducting staff training and development, managing work environments, approving time cards and time off requests, ensuring staffing ratios are met, and making recommendations for other personnel actions. Responsible for on call coverage as assigned.

* Responsible for monitoring budget including petty cash, billing and variance reports, and finance reports. Also responsible for use of agency credit cards and WEX cards.

* Ensures and monitors delivery of consistent and comprehensive set of services are provided to youth and families at frequencies consistent with treatment goals, state mandates, and Agency policy. Ensures all required documentation is completed in a timely, consistent, and comprehensive manner. Responsible to receive and report all critical incidents timely. Manage and reduce risk in area of responsibility or seek assistance when needed to resolve the matter. Assures health and safety risks are controlled or removed, and a safe and therapeutic environment exists.

* Provides supervision to Supervising Group Home Workers and Family Specialist in assigned Group Home and documents accordingly.

* Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Serves as the face of Berkshire while promoting the system of care for youth needing higher or lower services. Participates and initiates program development marketing efforts. Monitors environmental trends in order to meet and expand programming needs.

* Ensures daily programming provides consistency and accountability to youth while enhancing therapeutic relationships. Ensures staff are engaged in positive therapeutic

activities and interactions with youth. Ensures youth are exposed to new experiences via educational, social, spiritual, cultural, and recreational activities within the community. Ensures that the Berkshire Model of Care and Treatment is fully implemented and operational for each youth in the group home.

* Adheres to agency policies and procedures; promotes and supports agency mission, vision, and values, participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.

* Coverage and support provided to other group homes as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required. MSW preferred.

(In lieu of education, must have 5 years of experience managing a group home program.)

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with diverse youth and families.

* Demonstrated supervisory/management experience required.

* Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required including keen attention to detail.

* Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to listen, act as a role model, and build therapeutic relationships.

* Demonstrated ability to assess situations and resolve multiple conflicts simultaneously.

* Handles confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

* Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills required.

* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced culture; must be able to adapt to a changing environment.

* TCI/First Aid/CPR certification required.

* Must have a current and valid driver's license with acceptable driving history to the Agency.

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary.

* Demonstrated computer literacy skills including MS Office suite and other database programs.

* Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.

Salary

$65,000 annual; weekly pay
