Job Summary The Procurement Contracts Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing the entire contract lifecycle for supplier agreements within the Procurement Services team. This position is responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing contracts, while collaborating with internal departments such as the Office of the General Counsel, Risk Management and Privacy/Compliance. The Procurement Contracts Specialist will administer the contracts management system in the SAP eProcurement platform. This role also supports strategic sourcing initiatives to drive efficiency, compliance, and cost savings. Essential Functions
- Administer the SAP Contracts Management Module, which will include overseeing the entire lifecycle of Procurement contracts. Prepare agreements by reviewing, negotiating business terms and routing for additional review as needed. Work with stakeholders to confirm all needs are being contractually met.
- Work closely with internal departments, including but not limited to the Office of the General Counsel, Risk Management, Privacy & Compliance, and Tax, to facilitate review by subject matter experts, ensure all contracts align with University policies and standards, and meet applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records within the University's contract management system, including contract changes, renewals and amendments.
- Support the development and execution of procurement strategies that achieve cost savings, ensure compliance, and meet stakeholder needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in contract management.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations and best practices in Procurement and contract management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Law, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Three to four years of relevant experience as outlined in the job description
- Proven experience as a Procurement Contracts Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in a procurement or supply chain management function
- In-depth understanding of procurement principles, contract law, contract negotiation and management, and best practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to evaluate contract business terms, identify risks, and suggest actionable improvements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in using procurement tools, contract management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor or Master's degree in a related field preferred
- Certifications: Professional certifications or licensure such as state bar membership, Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), or equivalent are preferred

Additional Information This position is classified as exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630.00 to $ 93,950.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
