Maintenance Technician, Day Shift

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician, Day Shift
POSITION TYPE: Full time
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

STARTING PAY RATE:$28.25 per hour. Increasing up to $30.75 per hour in the first year, based on certifications and experience.

* Day Shift, working every other weekend.

Help us make Wisconsin Cheese for some of the world's most recognized brands. We produce made-to-order, customized blends of Wisconsin cheese for food service and food processing applications. The Appleton plant produces around 400,000 pounds of mozzarella cheese per day, 3 million pounds of whey protein concentrate per month and receives about 2.4 million pounds of milk per day.

JOB DUTIES:

As a Maintenance Technician in Appleton, you'll be responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment in top working condition for our largest plant. Responsibilities include:

• Installing motors and pumps
• Stainless steel welding
• Maintaining ammonia refrigeration equipment
• Boiler operation
• Preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting
• Work with pneumatics, instrumentation, HVAC, record keeping,and more

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass a general maintenance exam
• Willing to use a forklift (training is provided)
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
• Participation in team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Food processing experience preferred, or experience maintaining manufacturing equipment
• Electro-Mechanical Technology degree or related education desired
• Experience with ammonia systems, welding,boilers,cooling towers,pumps and motors,electrical
• Able to read and understand standard operating procedures
• Prior PLC experience is helpful, programming and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of GMP's and OSHA is highly desirable
• Experience with single phase and three phase power
