The VMAP program is growing! We are looking for a team member seeking an entry-level role into the health system with at least 2 years of experience working with children in a mental health setting. This role is essential to our children and their families understanding the program's services and being supported in their needs. **Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred**
The Family Navigator educates parents of children (5-20 years old) on the mental health services system and connect them with local resources that meet their needs and criteria. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct service in a child mental health setting, so as to have a basic understanding of the system and the processes related services. Experience working with diverse clientele Knowledge of the child mental health system and resources in Virginia Experience with computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office suite, email, and case management software Experience PREFERRED: Experience providing resources to families whose children are experiencing mental/behavioral health issues in a call center or information/referral setting Experience working with families who are experiencing mental health crises Experience using SocialSolutions case management software for data tracking and reporting Education/training REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalency degree Training as a Family Support Partner or a similar peer support role Education/training PREFERRED: High-fidelity intense care coordination with wraparound training Parent leadership training Knowledge of family to family peer support programs Certified Peer Support Specialist training Experience working in an academic medical center Independent action(s) required: N/A Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Ability to work with diverse clientele; Ability to work some evening and weekend hours and occasional travel overnight Age Specific groups served: N/A Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs.
