Cornell University's Statler Hotel has launched a search for a Guest Services Agent to join our Front Office Team. As a Guest Services Agent, you will work on a team of professional staff and bright, talented college students who are eager to learn and be inspired to work together to deliver a WOW to guests of the Statler Hotel.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has an interest in advancing their career in hospitality. The hotel's front office is at the command central for a hotel. We provide lodging and service to wide range of visitors, ranging from first time visitors like prospective students and their families, to seasoned world travelers, alumni and other VIPs. Our Guest Service Agents provide a warm welcome, an efficient check-in, check-out process, and assist with a range of other guest needs. Our GSA's serve as ambassadors to Cornell University and our school/hotel!

What we are looking for in a Guest Services Agent:

  • The Guest Service Agent's (GSA) first responsibility is to provide a warm welcome and attentive service to guests and visitors to the Statler Hotel.
  • The GSA will provide an efficient check-in and check-out process and assist with guests' needs throughout their stay.
  • The GSA is responsible for transient guest reservations, maintaining accurate, updated reservation records.
  • The GSA will work closely with Statler Sales to coordinate group room bookings and with other Cornell departments on their room reservations.
  • The GSA will assist with other team members at the Bell Stand during busy periods.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and some relative experience working in a hotel, preferably a hotel Front Office.
  • Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional demeanor, dignified composure, pride in personal appearance.
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written) and professional phone etiquette.
  • Warm and enthusiastic personality, committed to giving your best effort.
  • Valid US Driver's License with clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of hotel management systems/revenue management/OTA's (online travel agencies)
  • Some accounting experience
