Preferred Qualifications:
Responsibilities System Integration: Integrate EPAS hardware and software components into vehicle platforms. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration. Software and Controls Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of control algorithms for EPAS systems. Ensure the control software is properly calibrated and tuned for various vehicle dynamics. Design: Work with the design and development engineers throughout the engineering organization to ensure steering functions and components have appropriate requirements and interface definition to achieve their specific vehicle functions. Functional Safety: Participate in functional safety and failure avoidance analysis of complex electrical and software vehicle subsystems (HARA, FMEAs, etc.). Calibration and Tuning: Develop and refine calibration parameters for optimal EPAS performance across different driving conditions and vehicle types. Adjust assist curves, feedback torque, and other parameters to balance driver comfort and vehicle handling. Verification: Create and own steering HIL test setups to bench test firmware seeking bugs and regressions. Proficient with D-space, Vector HIL, CAPL and python scripting. Testing and Validation: Design and execute comprehensive test plans for EPAS systems, including lab-based and on-road testing. Analyze data to identify performance issues and develop solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with vehicle dynamics, safety, and ADAS teams to ensure EPAS integration aligns with overall vehicle performance goals. Participate in design reviews and provide technical input related to EPAS integration. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that EPAS systems meet all relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement fail-safe strategies to maintain basic steering capabilities in case of system failures. Participate with development of prototype vehicle training. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in EPAS technology and integrate innovative solutions into the system. Propose and implement improvements to enhance the reliability, performance, and user experience of EPAS systems. Documentation and Reporting: Write system requirements, document all integration and calibration processes, test results, and system configurations. Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and management to showcase progress and maturity at various program milestones. Estimated Min Rate: $60.00 Estimated Max Rate: $80.00 Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
