Our group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory seeks a full-time technical staff member to perform research on advanced modeling and simulation techniques targeted to near-term quantum computing architectures. This position involves working within a team that is building a hierarchical modeling infrastructure that aims to understand the impact of realistic noise sources on the performance of surface code logical qubits. Experience in one or more of the following areas is required for this position:
Requirements
PhD (or a MS and 5+ years experience or BS and 10+ yearsexperience) in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field. Must have a strong background in theoretical quantum information science, as well as experience in computational modeling and simulation. The ability to develop software in programming languages such as: C++, Python, Matlab, and/or Mathematica is required. Knowledge of simulation tools such as: STIM, QuTip, etc. is desired. Experience with high-performance and accelerated (GPUs) computing is desired.
