Responsibilities

Design of fire alarm and fire suppression systems
Review and development of life safety plans
Life safety and building code consulting
Collaboration with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines
Interface with local AHJs and building owner insurance representatives
Development of site fire protection features and fire department access plans
Analysis of smoke movement, means egress, and fire hazards
Communication with clients and writing technical reports


Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
Professional license
Experience in fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety review and design
Experience with Revit, AutoCad, and fire protection related computational programs
Knowledge of adopted building codes and governmental (DoD, VA, GSA) standards
Experience working with NFPA codes and standards
Proven track record of communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to obtain security clearance as required
Capability to travel is preferred.
