Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

This role has a requirement of two clinical shifts 7:00 pm-:7:30 am and two administrative shifts 7:00 pm -3:30 am each 40-hour week. The ANM is asked to schedule these shifts based on staffing needs of the unit. Flexibility is required with this role dependent on unit needs, administrative needs, education requirements, or any other events requiring a change in scheduled hours. Weekends are not required but may be necessary for emergent situations.

Qualifications
  • Required Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or MSN.
  • 2 years of relevant experience nursing experience. Required
  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role, etc.,). Preferred
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown Upon Hire required
