BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work in over 40 countries and 28 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The IRC office in Miami has been serving the community since the 1960s. Over the decades, IRC in Miami has provided critical support to refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking, unaccompanied minors, immigrant youth, and their families.

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our care coordination team as an Immigrant Youth Assistant. This position will be crucial in supporting caseworkers and clients while contributing to goal achievement within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the caseworkers to provide support and assistance to immigrant children and their families.
  • Assist in developing and implementing engagement strategies to improve participation and communication within the community.
  • Collaborate with community members and local resources to address families' basic needs.
  • Advocate for clients and families to ensure they receive appropriate support and services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in relevant areas.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the program by participating in team meetings and sharing insights gained from community interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of the population served.
  • Prior experience working with diverse communities and individuals of all ages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and families.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using computers and maintaining accurate records.
  • Must speak Spanish.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will be based in a community setting and may involve remote, office-based, and fieldwork within the community.
  • The Immigrant Youth Case Aide will be expected to work 15 hours per week.
