Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to the Student Affairs office in the School of Social Work in maintaining and providing technical assistance and ongoing development to improve the internship process for students, utilizing Sonia. This includes re-creating and testing all of the internship forms creating work flows between all stakeholders, providing training to all stakeholders, and creating new processes. This role will also support the successful launch of a new university platform used to manage the school's alumni mentoring program, PeopleGrove.

This position requires a highly motivated and multifaceted individual to contribute to and be part of a proactive and student-focused team. You will support our internship team with varying levels of technical expertise and possess the ability to think logically to determine the best solution for data management and evaluation related issues. To be successful in this role, you will be thorough, creative, and technically as well as interpersonally skilled with a passion for continued learning and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Become an expert in the utilization of Sonia Online Database software (internship data management program);
Ensure that Sonia runs smoothly and efficiently:
o Provide application support to Sonia users;
o Thoroughly document and manage Sonia issues and use defined systems to keep internship team updated on requests;
o Collaborate with University IT and/or Sonia Support as needed to resolve issues and report software glitches, etc.;
o Work with internship team to continually improve the Sonia experience for all stakeholders;
o Data management and ongoing maintenance - collects, cleans and analyzes data to support integrity of the online database;

Serves as a resource and consultant to the School of Social Work around data and evaluation information;
Manage and respond to evaluation requests related to grant, reaffirmation and other data requests;
Program evaluation and survey design lead; prioritize key metrics for ongoing assessment of activities and outcomes;
Conducts quality assurance of data;
Design evaluation plans and determine questions to address;
Enhance communication within team members and stakeholders;
Participate in the Assessment and Evaluation Committee;
Become an expert in Sakai and manage Sakai users and make updates as needed;
Collaborate with Student Affairs team and other members of the School of Social Work to meet goals;
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and one-three years of related experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
* Bachelors degree in technical or social science area with an interest in data and evaluation; social work experience preferred but not required;
* Interest in training and technical assistance;
* Skills in research design, survey research design, academic program review, assessment of student learning, quantitative and qualitative analysis and effective report writing;
* Ability to communicate technical results in a non-technical manner to reach a broader audience;
* Demonstrate an ability to listen carefully, ask relevant questions and provide relevant assistance;
* A strong understanding of excel and experience overseeing data management systems
* Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
* Highly-organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Able to articulate complex, abstract concepts concisely and effectively to non-technical users verbally and in writing.
* Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
* Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change.
* Team-player mentality with a positive attitude

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
Minimum Education
* Bachelors degree in technical or social science area with an interest in data and evaluation
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office suite including excel, PowerPoint
- Basic troubleshooting skills, use of web browsers and internets, intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, file maintenance and organization, email etiquette, digital safety and security;
- SPSS, SAS, or other basic tools for statistical analysis and data management; ability to learn Sonia Online database
