Schedule: Full time; weekly rotating opening and closing shifts. Opening shifts are typically 5:30a-2:30p and closing shifts are typically 11:30a-8:30p. Rotating weekends are closing shifts.

Job Summary

Summary: As a Dining Services Supervisor, you will assist in the successful operation and customer service of hospital patient meals. You will lead a team of about 20 associates per shift and will serve about 200 meals per meal period. The supervisor role is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, supervisor who is seeking a career avenue into the food service industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with running the day-to-day operation of dining services for hospital patients
  • Ensures patient/client/customer service satisfaction with efficient cost effective management meeting while striving to exceed expectations
  • Supervises the tray line ensuring that food is ready and going out on time; jumping in to assist when needed
  • Shadows the host to ensure quality service is being provided
  • Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities for patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, and infection control
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of food service experience
  • Experience in hospitals/healthcare, restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, and/or related food service operations
  • Some knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with management, clients, patients, and associate levels
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
  • ServSafe Certification is a plus
