Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, together with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include providing both inpatient and outpatient care, predominantly at SRALab, but also inpatient rehabilitation consultations at an affiliated acute care hospital. The care will involve primarily patients with a variety of neurological and medically complex conditions requiring rehabilitation, and some musculoskeletal care as well. This individual will assume responsibility for patients' clinical quality, safety, outcomes and satisfaction; advocate a scientific approach to patient care delivery; actively participate in assigned Hospital and Department Committee work; and participate in research and in medical education activities, including teaching medical students and residents and fellows. Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois; have successfully completed an accredited residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation; be Board certified or Board eligible; have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, important referring parties, hospital executives, treatment team members and staff; and have strong analytical skills to communicate effectively. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. This position involves employment at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and a faculty appointment at NU.
