Director of the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health and Anthony R. Manganaro Endowed Professor

About the Opportunity

The Center for Cognitive and Brain Health (CBH) at Northeastern University (https://cbh.northeastern.edu/) invites applications for a Director of the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health at the rank of Full Professor to start in the fall of 2025. The Anthony R. Manganaro Endowed Professorship will be used to support a professor who is advancing vital research and has achieved international distinction in the area of brain and cognitive health, including but not limited to neurodegenerative diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, and other brain disorders, as well as healthy early life development and aging.

We welcome applicants who conduct interventional human subjects research, with a focus on faculty who use neuroimaging, behavioral, arts-based, and/or computational tools to assess cognitive and brain health. We are particularly interested in individuals who bring a unique perspective to the Center, which may include focus areas such as: epigenetics and genetics, neuromodulation, nutritional neuroscience and metabolomics, computational modeling, brain-computer interfaces, creative and arts-based diagnostics or interventions, or other related fields.

Potential topics of interest may also include lifestyle factors such as physical activity, diet, cognitive training, meditation, music, dance, theater, language and communication, social interaction, sleep and stress among other foci, as well as a range of populations of interest from childhood through older adulthood in healthy individuals or patient populations. We are especially keen on candidates who take multi-modal approaches to studying interventions of cognitive and brain health in different contexts, including laboratory, clinic, school, workplace, family, and community. Because this is an interdisciplinary position, the successful faculty member will likely be jointly appointed to Departments and Colleges at Northeastern University that best fit with their interdisciplinary research and focus.
