You will work closely with faculty across diverse departments to address their grant award and subawarding needs, ensuring compliance with University policies, federal regulations, and legal requirements while applying your expertise in policy interpretation, budget development, and grant administration. Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Contract
Administration and Negotiation:

  • Process, draft, and
    negotiate a range of sponsored research agreements, starting with outgoing
    subaward modifications and new Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) outgoing
    subaward agreements, eventually progressing to incoming award agreements, equipment
    loan agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDA), Material Transfer Agreements
    (MTA) and more.
  • Collaborate with the
    Office of General Counsel, Export Control, Tech Launch Arizona, and other
    university administrative/compliance offices as needed.

Compliance and
Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance
    with prime award terms, university policies, procedures, and federal
    regulations throughout the subaward lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update
    a database to track the status of subawards and amendments.

Policy Development
and Guidance:

  • Assist in the
    formulation of guidelines, procedures, and the development of templates and
    tools for agreements.
  • Provide
    interpretation and guidance on university policies and procedures to academic
    departments.
    Interpret and apply
    complex funding regulations and guidelines to ensure proper contract
    management.

Knowledge and
Professional Development:

  • Maintain up-to-date
    knowledge of current developments in policies, laws, regulations, and best
    practices related to university agreements.
  • Participate in
    professional development opportunities and contribute to departmental knowledge
    sharing and training.
  • Additional duties
    may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience and 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Federal regulations require that the incumbent be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or have another protected status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to be ITAR/EAR compliant.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree, such as a J.D., MBA, or other advanced degree; sponsored research experience, university administration experience, and/or Certified Research Administrator Certification (CRA); or experience in business administration, contracting/subcontracting, or legal office.
